LEONARDTOWN, Md. — The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office is assisting the United States Coast Guard and family of Dominic Gabriel Villarreal, age 20 of California, with a procession on Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at approximately 6:30 p.m. The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office will join the procession at the county line in Charlotte Hall and travel to Brinsfield Funeral Home in Leonardtown.
Dominic Villarreal died on February 20, 2022 in Ketchikan, Alaska while faithfully serving his country. Villarreal is a 2019 graduate of Leonardtown High School, and after graduation enlisted in the United States Coast Guard and served proudly until his death.
Sheriff Tim Cameron and the men and women of the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office thank Dominic for his faithful service and send our condolences to his family and friends.

“FN Dominic Gabriel Villarreal, USCG, 20, of California, MD passed away peacefully on February 20, 2022 in Ketchikan, AK.
He was born on May 5, 2001, in Jacksonville, FL to Hector Villarreal and Jennifer Love Villarreal of California, MD.
Dominic is a 2019 graduate of Leonardtown High School. After graduation in enlisted in the United States Coast Guard and proudly served his country until his death. He was musically inclined and talented. He was skilled in playing eight instruments: clarinet, keyboard, bass drum, saxophone, trombone and bass guitar. He was in the Marching Band all four years of high school. He was close to his family and enjoyed spending time with them as well as his many friends.
In addition to his parents, Hector and Jennifer, Dominic is also survived by his sisters, Eva Senovea Love Villarreal of Baltimore, MD and Madison Brooke Love Villarreal of California, MD; and many extended family and friends.
Family will receive friends on Thursday, March 3, 2022 from 11 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with a Celebration of Life Service at 12:00 p.m., at Brinsfield Funeral Home, 22955 Hollywood Road, Leonardtown, MD 20650. Interment will be held at a later date.”
